Nicole Lister is an Australian ceramic artist. Her approach to the ceramic medium is challenging and innovative. Whilst her ideas are often drawn from ceramic tradition her influences and inspiration come from sources as diverse as industrial architecture and consumer packaging. A strong skills base underpins her practice and provides her with the versatility and confidence to experiment with materials, form, and surface. She aims to create work that is both conceptually and technically well resolved, be it speculative work for exhibition or limited edition functional ware for the contemporary interior. What unites all her work is its high quality and apparent simplicity, something which belies her rigorous approach.

Lister has been involved in the Visual Arts for over 13 years, firstly as an educator and now as a practitioner. Nicole Lister Ceramics was established in 1998. The main focus of the business is the design and making of contemporary studio ceramics. It is a small operation where Lister creates work for exhibition and retail sales through contemporary craft /design outlets. Commissions that are sympathetic to the artist's concerns and area of interest are also undertaken.
